Nurturing the faith of teens and young adults is an important part of our pastoral ministry. Many of our parishes have vibrant youth ministries already underway and others are beginning new endeavors. The Newman Center at the University of Wyoming provides exceptional pastoral care to our young adults attending school there. Efforts are being made to increase our presence at some of the junior colleges throughout the state as well. Instilling a deep faith and providing a solid moral foundation for young Catholics is a priority in our youth ministry endeavors.

Renewing the Vision
"Renewing the Vision is a call to make ministry with adolescents a concern for the entire church community, especially for leaders in parishes, schools, and dioceses. The Holy Father has emphasized repeatedly the importance of young people and ministry with them. His words at World Youth Day 1995 called the Church to become the 'traveling companion of young people.'"
-Most Reverend G. Patrick Ziemann, Committee on the Laity, USCCB
The Diocese of Cheyenne encourages all youth ministry programs to implement and promote the eight components of Comprehensive Youth Ministry as defined by the USCCB in the Renewing the Vision Document. They are:
* Community Life
* Justice and Service
* Leadership Development
* Pastoral Care
* Prayer and Worship
In addition to the eight components Renewing the Vision has three goals for youth ministry programs. They are:
1. Empower young people to live as disciples of Jesus Christ in our world today.
2. To draw young people to the responsible participation in the life, mission, and work of the Catholic faith community.
3. To foster the total personal and spiritual growth of each young person.
